Rachel Watson
Rachel Watson, APRN-CNP is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in sleep disorders and treatment of sleep apnea. She joined the Metabolic Center of OK in
2024 to launch the sleep program.
In 2004 Rachel graduated with honors, earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is Board Certified by the American
Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She aims to increase awareness of sleep disorders and increase access to testing. It can present as snoring, fatigue or restless sleep.
Lack of deep sleep causes depression, headaches and memory impairment. Inadequate sleep contributes to high blood pressure, increased appetite and diabetes. Some people have no warning symptoms until it leads to heart problems or a stroke. Her philosophy is that good sleep should be prioritized. It can transform your life.
Rachel supports Reggie White’s Legacy & Sleep Apnea Awareness. Reggie was one of America’s greatest football legends. He was 43 when he had a fatal cardiac
arrhythmia, thought to be caused by sleep apnea. His CPAP machine was found at his bedside, unused. Like Reggie, some people struggle with using CPAP and need more follow up visits if they cannot use it. Patients who are going through radical weight loss transition, adjustments and mask refitting are required as the face and the body change. Retesting is necessary when patients reach a realistic goal weight if symptoms improve.
